A Letter From Alex Chester - March 2018

Holy crap, we are already at Issue 003. This quarter we decided to focus on Women’s History Month, Lunar New Year, and Day of Remembrance. As Japanese-Americans it is important for us to remember our ancestors who were interned during WWII. It is vital in today’s political climate that we make sure the imprisonment of a group of people due to fear and prejudice never happens again. It is up to us to “always remember and never forget,” because sadly, it could happen again.

And because it is Women’s History Month, we thought it only proper to talk about the women that have inspired us. Women’s rights are human rights; it’s as simple as that. I know I wouldn’t be the woman I am today without my amazing girlfriends and Mom and Grandmama. I hope you let the special women in your life know just how awesome they are!

As always thanks for reading! Happy March!
